Essay Contest
UPDATE: The Essay Contest awards ceremony will be combined with the Constitution Seminar on Saturday, September 18th, rather than on Friday night. It will run from 1:30 – 2:15 pm.
The San Angelo TEA Party is proud to announce its 1st Annual Constitution Essay Contest. As our way of showing support for the spirit of 36 USC 106, which requires all educational facilities receiving federal funds to conduct training on the U.S. Constitution during the week of Constitution Day and Citizenship Day, we will be conducting a contest, for the students of the Concho Valley, to express their understanding of, and commitment to, the Constitution of the United States of America.
As the topic of this year’s contest the students will be asked to answer the question, “Why did the Founding Fathers write the United States Constitution?”
A Note About The Tax Day TEA Party Rally
Rumor has it there is an organized group intent on infiltrating and disrupting TEA events across the country. We must be aware of the possibility of this happening at our upcoming April 15th rally. Tactics employed could include ludicrous signs such as “Jesus wrote the constitution,” “Death to Obama/Pelosi/Reid,” or displays of questionable graphics, as well as shouting out inappropriate things… you get the idea. To further portray Tea Party attendees in a less than favorable light, these signs could be replete with misspellings and grammatical errors. Of course, the media will probably gravitate right toward these impostors and feature them in whatever coverage is given.
The San Angelo TEA Party does ask that should this occur, please remain civil and courteous. Do not be drawn into a confrontation. TEA volunteers will be on the lookout for such instances and will attempt to surround and thereby isolate such offenders. Sheriff deputies will be on site to oversee activities and respond to any disruptive behavior.
In addition, this group could also attempt to collect information from you under false pretenses. Our TEA Party volunteers will not have any sign up sheets at the event. We will, however, be distributing website information and inviting you to enroll in our distribution list online.
Please, help spread the word about this possibility so that all attending the rally can be prepared. Better be overly prepared and nothing happen, than to be caught by surprise!

Have America’s best days come and gone? No, but if America is to be saved, it is YOU that must do the saving. No politician or political party will save this Country. YOU are the one to whom our Creator endowed the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and YOU must be the one to exercise your rights, defend them, and preserve them for future generations.
Saving America Begins with YOU!
April 15th Tax Day TEA Party
Below is a link to the new Tax Day TEA Party flyer, for 2010. Please download the flyer, then print and distribute as many as you can. Ask walk-in businesses if they’ll let you post a flyer in their window or any location where people will see it. Bring a few copies to your church.
The toughest mission we face is getting the word out about who we are and what we do. We need to have as many people as possible show up at our rally. Last year we had between 1200 and 1500 people attend. It would be great if we could at least double that number.
Be sure to stock up on SATP merchandise, to wear to the rally. Order now, in time for production and shipping!
